Giftun Island & Mahmya Beach Snorkeling Trip
Two snorkelling stops on the protected Giftun reefs, lunch on board and a long afternoon on the white sand of Mahmya.
Highlights
- Two snorkelling stops on the protected Giftun reefs
- Three hours on Mahmya beach
- Lunch and soft drinks on board
- A crew member in the water with beginners
Giftun is the Red Sea at its most generous. The island and its reefs are part of a national park a short boat ride from Hurghada, and the coral gardens start just a few fin kicks from the boat.
We leave the marina early to reach the first reef before the big boats. The crew gives every guest a short briefing, fits masks and fins, and stays in the water with anyone snorkelling for the first time. After lunch on deck we drop anchor off Mahmya, a beach on Giftun’s western shore with soft white sand, shade umbrellas and shallow, glassy water that is ideal for children.
It is a relaxed, full day: two reef stops, a proper lunch and enough beach time to read a book, nap in the shade or keep snorkelling straight from the shore.

Picked up on time, the crew spoke Polish and looked after our kids in the water the whole day. Best trip of our holiday.
